OnePlus CEO and founder Carl Pei took to stage at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2018 to reveal that OnePlus will be launching the first Snapdragon 855 smartphone.
However, its not going to be OnePlus 7, but a new OnePlus 5G flagship phone. The handset will be launching first in Europe.

Lau has confirmed that it has partnered with Qualcomm and U.K based EE carrier to lunch the first 5G phone in Europe. A recent report from CNET claims that it won’t be the OnePlus 7 smartphone, but a new lineup. According to a latest OnePlus tweet, it will be launching the first 5G ready flagship in early 2019.

The Snapdragon 855 chipset features X50 5G modem for 5G connectivity, but in regions where 5G is not available it will include Snapdragon X24 modem. The OnePlus 5G phone with SD 855 onboard may get showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in February.
OnePlus 7 Rumors and Release Date
The OnePlus 6 smartphone was launched in May this year. Probably, the OnePlus 7 smartphone may arrive by the second quarter in the coming year. It could be also equipped with Snapdragon 855 chipset. At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the OnePlus 5G phone. What’s known about this device is that it would be costing around $200 or $300 more than the OnePlus 6T smartphone.
OnePlus 6T, the most recent flagship phone from the company was announced at the end of October. It is the first OnePlus to lack a 3.5 mm audio jack and feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It features a waterdrop display of 6.4 inches. The Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the phone along with 8 GB of RAM. It includes up to 256 GB of storage and it is packed with a 3,700mAh battery.
