OnePlus has just come with an update for the OnePlus 2 and it address several bugs while also bringing the doze feature on board.
A highly successful model, the OnePlus 2 still has the performance figures to go against the best in the business. Powered by a snapdragon 820 processor, the phone is excellent for multitasking because of 3 GB of RAM. A few months ago, it finally received the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Whilst it brought several great features to the device, it was not without its bugs. After addressing issues with the recently launched OnePlus 3, the company has been dishing out fixes for the famed OnePlus 2.
The new update to the OnePlus 2 – OxygenOS3.1.0 – brings aspects like bug fixes for security and notification, doze mode for better battery life, and the latest security updates for the Android OS. One of the major disappointments has been the lack of camera improvement and VoLTE update. OnePlus has been promising for some time that the phone would receive an update that would enable users to enjoy VoLTE capabilities. Sadly, the wait has to go on.
The changelog released by OnePlus shows that the notification issues have fixed, performance of the doze mode improved, the addition of a media sound toggle in the alert slider, and fixed the issue involving the silent/slider mode issue. The new patches – Quadrooter and Android’s latest security updates – are for work underneath the device to improve aspects like protection and security. Some general bugs have also been fixed according to OnePlus.
Just as with the other updates regarding the OxygenOS, it will not be available to users around the world straightaway. Since it will be available as an OTA, users will get a notification once they get the update in their region.
The OnePlus 2 is widely regarded as the best from the Chinese company, which has specialised in the art of making high end phones available at mid-range prices. Following the arrival of the OnePlus 3, prices of the OnePlus 2 have dropped well below the $400 mark and could be had for just over $320. It remains as one of the best value for money offerings in the market today.
Armed with features like a 5.5 inch full HD display and a 13-megapixel camera to go along with the powerful processor, the OnePlus 2 runs on OxygenOS which is almost like stock android in user experience.
