Rockstar Games is launching the new-generation console versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 on March 15.
While fans have been excited about this launch for a while, they have also been discussing the price points at which the game will be made available. After a lot of speculation, one has finally got some concrete information about its pricing.
Though Rockstar Games has not released any official information about the price at which the game will be listed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, pre-orders have already begun. Going by the pre-order price, GTA 5 is available at a discount of 75% on PS5. On Xbox Series X|S, the game is being sold at a discount of 50%.

This huge discount on pricing seems to be a result of a promotion that was announced a while back. Grand Theft Auto Online is available free to those who have a subscription to PlayStation Plus. Subscribers can claim the game free of cost for three months after the game gets an official launch. On the PlayStation store, GTA 5’s ‘Story Mode’, which has been designed for PS5,has been listed for pre-order at £8.75 ($9.99).
As one requires a PS Plus subscription to play GTA Online, there is no clarity about one being able to buy it on PS5 without being a subscriber.
The combined price of GTA Online and Story Mode on Xbox Series X|Sis £17.49 ($19.99). GTA Online can also be bought as a standalone product for £8.99 ($9.99) but one would need a subscription of Xbox Live Gold for the same. To be able to purchase both modes, those who own PlayStation 5 will have to shell out £8.75($9.99). At £17.49 ($19.99), Xbox Series X|S owners will have to pay almost double the amount.
As the release date gets closer, Rockstar Games has been putting out relevant information about the game. Last week, the gaming publisher confirmed that GTA 5’s PS5 and Xbox Series X|Sversions will have three graphics modes namely the Fidelity Mode, Performance Mode and Performance RT Mode.
