The development of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake by Ubisoft has been marked with several challenges.
A while back, Ubisoft had stated that the development of the game will be taken over by a new team. It’s been a while Ubisoft Montreal has taken charge of the game. However, this has not really resulted in the development process of the game moving at a fast pace.
Recent reports have suggested at the game being removed from catalogs of multiple retailers which lists upcoming releases in the gaming industry. The publisher confirmed the reports and stated that the game has been postponed indefinitely.
The aforementioned reports pointed out that there have been rumors about GameStop removing listings and other information related to Prince of Persia: Sands of Time from its official database which features the list of upcoming games. Earlier, the game was delayed and scheduled to be launched during Fiscal Year 2023.
It was a part of the database of GameWindow for a long time. The product’s removal fuelled the rumors about Ubisoft making some amendments to its plans for the launch of the game. Since the rumors were not confirmed or clarified, fans were confused about the direction in which the game was headed.
Addressing the restlessness that fans were experiencing, Ubisoft released an official statement to clarify a few things pertaining to the game. As per the gaming publisher, Prince Of Persia Remake is still being developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Deciding not to stick to its FY23 release plans, Ubisoft has delisted the game for the time being.
Ubisoft has requested individuals, who have pre-ordered the game, to get a refund from their retailers. It has promised fans that it will share an official update about the development of the game in the near future.
