Sony announced the new PS4 Pro console which has a better processor, graphics card and has 4K capabilities.
The company detailed how powerful the new console is and various features integrated in it.
The PS4 Pro has the same share functionality as the Playstation 4 console. However, with the help of the improved hardware, the console has the capability to capture amazing game screenshots in 4K resolution. Gameplay videos that players capture will be done in full HD 1080p resolution. The original mode can do the same in a lower 720p resolution making Pro a good upgrade especially if you run a youtube channel or is fond of sharing videos now and then.
The only catch is that even though PS4 Pro videos are full HD, they are all captured in 30 frames per second. Most videos, especially those of video games support 60 FPS on Youtube, Twitch among other sharing sites. Sony might wait till they launch Playstation 5 to add the feature. The capture functionality works like the PS4 edition. All you have to do is press the button on the controller and the videos or screenshots will be captured in higher resolution when the game is running on the PS4 Pro console.
Sony has also added that the resolution might vary based on the game. Some games are designed to be captured in 1080p seamlessly while others might be captured in a lower resolution. The screenshots will be done in 3840 x 2160 pixels. The PS4 Pro is priced at $400 while the slimmer Playstation 4 console is also set to hit stores this holiday season.
Games will continue to get launched on all three consoles and there will be no exclusives. However, the performance of particular new gen titles like Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefield 1 among others will be better on the Pro console because it features an increased clockspeed with a GPU that is two times more powerful than the original Playstation 4 model.
The big question still prevails as gamers are bit confused whether to go for the new console or wait for E3 2017 during which Sony will probably announce the PS5 console. As of now, the gameplay experience is going to be similar and if you are going to buy a new hardware, the PS4 slim which is cheaper and slimmer is an ideal choice. Those who want the latest should obviously pick the PS4 Pro without second thoughts.
