Redmi Pro 2 posters have been leaked by a Chinese tipster on Weibo. The leak reveals that it could be the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 675 chipset.
The above images found in a weibo account claim that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 675 chipset. No details on the other specs of the smartphone are mentioned in the leaked teasers. There is a possibility that it could be the very same 48-megapixel camera phone that Xiaomi President Lin Bin had teased earlier this month.
The Snapdragon 675 chipset was introduced in October. The 11 nm chipset has been designed for bringing gaming, imaging and artificial intelligence experience on mid-range devices. It is the most powerful version of the Snapdragon 670 SoC that was announced in August this year. During the launch of SD675, Xiaomi had confirmed that it will be the first company to launch a phone powered by the same chipset.

The Snapdragon 675 mobile platform includes two cores of Cortex A76 working at 2 GHz and six cores of Cortex A55 clocking at 1.78 GHz. It includes Adreno 612 graphic. Some of the other features of the SoC are Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, support for dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11c, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and FHD + resolution. Since it can support a camera that can shoot up to 48-megapixel snapshot, it has to be that the Snapdragon 675 will be under the hood of the 48MP camera that was teased by Xiaomi President Lin Bin. I have revealed that the smartphone will be made official in January.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to arrive as the successor of the Redmi Pro smartphone from 2016. Based on the image shared by Bin, the alleged Redmi Pro 2 may sport a premium design with glass rear and dual cameras. If the Redmi Pro 2 exists for real, more leaks are expected to surface in the coming weeks to reveal its existence and features.
