Looking at last year’s launch of the Mi 5 flagship, the new Xiaomi Mi 6 should be launched at the upcoming MWC 2017 event in Barcelona.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be coming in to succeed the Mi 5 that launched last year and even though the OEM has remained silent on the matter, it hasn’t stopped rumors and speculations from doing rounds all over the internet.
According to previous reports, Xiaomi Mi 6 will have two variants – one flat screen and another will ship with a dual-edge screen like the one on the Mi Note 2. In fact, the price details of these two and some of their specs have already been leaked, with reports pointing to a Snapdragon 835 as the processor to run the show on the duo. In addition to being differentiated by their display screen designs, the two rumored Mi 6 phones will also have different RAM packages of 4GB for the flat screen model and 6GB for the edge screen model.
As it appears, there is still one more variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6 in the pumps, which will also be unveiled alongside the other two. The latest developments coming from China claim that Xiaomi is working to bring MediaTek’s Helio X30 processor to one of its Mi 6 variants.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is reported to be coming in with a price tag of just $290 or CNY 1999. While it had been thought that this will be the 4GB RAM variant with Snapdragon 835 SoC, it appears that this rumored Helio X30 will take this slot instead. As for the entry-level variant of the Snapdragon 835 SoC, you’ll have to part with CNY 2499 or about $363. Like the Helio X30 variant, this model will also come with a flat-screen display. If you are holding out for the curved screen variant, the phone will set you back CNY 2999 or approximately $436.
