Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO Leaks on Geekbench with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 and 4GB RAM

Xiaomi was at the recently-concluded CES 2017 event and while many expected the company to make its entry into the international stage at the event, this did not happen.

Still, the tech giant did not come all the way from China just to attend the show. At the event, the company unveiled a new white color variant for the magnificent Xiaomi Mi MIX, a borderless smartphone that was released towards the end of last year but is available only in China.

Now, in a new turn of events, it appears that there is a new Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO in the making with a possible launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017, the second MWC event that the Chinese OEM will be attending after making its debut last year with the Xiaomi Mi 5.

From the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO will be a powerhouse, just like its predecessor, the Mi MIX. While the details of the device’s physical appearance have not been put out, we have some significant details about what it will carry on the inside. Like many other 2017 flagships, the Mi MIX EVO will ship with the incoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

This processor has eight cores and according to the listing, the SoC will be clocked at a speed of 1.9GHz. In addition to this, the Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO will also come with a RAM of 4GB, just like what has been used on the current model, although there is a 6GB RAM variant as well. With many OEMs expected to launch their flagships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, the leaked Mi MIX EVO is still based on the older Android Marshmallow.

In the tests carried out, the Snapdragon 835-powered Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO managed to record a score of 1918 in single-core tests and a huge 5689 on the multi-core tests. When compared to the same tests carried on a Xiaomi Mi MIX with Snapdragon 821 on board, the Mi MIX EVO shows some huge performance improvements. The current model managed a single-core score of 1795 and a multi-core score of 4193.

Despite the latest development, be warned that nothing is formal yet about this supposed Xiaomi Mi MIX EVO phone. However, with the MWC 2017 event approaching fast and Xiaomi expected to attend the show, we should be able to hear more details about this phone and even the Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship. Stay tuned!
