Over a month ago, fresh info about the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 was leaked, giving out details of the phone’s hardware specifications as well as the price.
While this leak did not give out any details on the expected release date of the phone, the latest report coming from China says that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be released before the end of this month. The month has only two weeks before it comes to a conclusion, which means that this phone should indeed be released very soon, if the rumor is to be believed.
There’s still no specific day mentioned yet, but as we noted earlier, we already have the full details of what specs will come under the hood of this Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2.
So far, we know that the Redmi Pro 2 will ship with an impressive set of specs. Last year’s Redmi Pro was the tech giant’s first smartphone to feature a dual-lens camera on the back. If previous reports are to be believed, the successor to this phablet will keep the camera setup. However, there’s talk of a more powerful 12MP Sony IMX362 lens on the back, but the rest of the details are still unclear.
We don’t expect any changes on the screen size and quality, which means fans will still get a 5.5-inch 1080p panel. It is the hardware specs that will see wholesale changes, where the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be dropping the MediaTek processor used last year in favor of a new Snapdragon 660 SoC. Despite this, rumors of a MediaTek Helio P25 variant haven’t been easy to cool down, so don’t be surprised if more than one variant is released.
Previous leaks further confirm that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will ship with two variants based on memory. Where the low-end model will ship with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, the high-end model will come in with a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. These two will be priced at CNY 1599 and CNY 1799, which is about $230 and $260, respectively.
