With rumors about the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport building up ahead of their expected launch this February, a new detail has just surfaced from the official Bluetooth certification body, SIG.
When a device is listed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), it usually means that the official launch or release is not so far. As it is, the LG Watch Style should be the device that has just passed Bluetooth certification, carrying model number LG-W270.
Details about the high-end LG Watch Sport have remained scarce, but many are optimistic that the so-called “much more fully-featured smartwatch” will accompany its counterpart. While not so much is available from the listing, we now know that the supposed LG Watch Style will be compatible with the latest Bluetooth 4.2.
As for the rest, previous leaks have confirmed that the Watch Style will be priced at $249. While the launch date is not yet confirmed, analysts are adamant that the wearable will be unveiled alongside Android Wear 2.0, which Google plans to unveil on February 9. The internal specs of the LG Watch Style are not yet known – and so are those for the Sport variant.
Tipster Evan Blass recently came in with a number of images that he claimed were for the LG Watch Style. Given his impressive track record with leaks in the mobile industry, it is easy to believe what Blass says. He confirms that the watch will ship in at least two color variants of rose gold and silver. From the leaked images, it is obvious that LG has set its eyes on having a more luxurious design, especially when compared to other similar devices that have previously been released by its competitors.
As noted all throughout, most of these details on the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport are based on rumors, but now that we have more tangible evidence from the Bluetooth SIG, it is about time you brace yourselves for a new series of LG smartwatches.
