Just about a day ago, a fresh leak of a device known as Sony Pikachu emerged with details matching those of an upgraded Sony Xperia XA.
The alleged Sony Xperia XA 2017 is one of several Sony devices that are expected to be launched at the upcoming MWC 2017 event in two weeks. Details of this phone have been around for some time, with previous reports pointing to at least two phones powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 processor. Well, last year’s Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra were the two devices that came powered by the predecessor to this chipset – the Helio P10.
The GFXBench listing confirmed several technical specs of the alleged Sony Xperia XA 2017. According to the listing, the Sony Xperia phone, which goes by the codename Sony Pikachu, will ship with a 5-inch display screen with a resolution of 720p. Under the hood, the Pikachu will come with a MediaTek MT6757 processor, which the previously mentioned Helio P20, alongside a RAM of 3GB and Mali-T880 MP2 graphics processing unit (GPU).

The GFXBench listing also confirmed the alleged Sony Xperia XA 2017 will also come with what was seen as a 21MP lens on the back alongside an 8MP shooter and as for the OS, the device is to be powered by Sony’s edition of Android 7.0 Nougat. Well, according to a new listing on AnTuTu, this appears to be the confirmed specs sheet of the Pikachu.
The new listing adds more weight to the fact that the Xperia XA 2017 will ship with an HD display screen, a MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with a RAM of 3GB alongside 64GB of storage as well as Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The AnTuTu listing further clarifies the camera issue, revealing that the rear snapper will come with a 23MP lens and not a 21MP lens as earlier thought. As for the selfie camera, it is still an 8MP lens, same as last year’s model.
