Samsung Galaxy A40 Bluetooth SIG Approved; Launch Imminent

The Samsung Galaxy A40 with model number SM-A405N_DS has been approved by Bluetooth SIG body today, hinting at imminent release.

The South Korean company has recently launched the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A40 smartphones in India. It appears that the Galaxy A40 could be next A-series phone from the company.

The Galaxy A40 Bluetooth SIG certification only confirms that it will carry support for Bluetooth 5.0. A support page of the smartphone is now available on the official German website of the company. The support page mentions model numbers such as SM-A405FN/DS which indicates that the handset will be arriving in single-SIM and dual-SIM editions.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 was spotted on Geekbench with key specs. The handset is fueled by the Exynos 7885 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS that may come along with Samsung’s latest One UI. The moniker of the phone suggests that the company will be slotting it between the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 smartphones. Hence, there is a possibility that the A40 may feature an AMOLED display with Infinity-U notch design. Also, it could be equipped with a large-sized battery.

Samsung is also reportedly working on mid-range to high-end Galaxy A-series phones. The Galaxy A60, Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90 may debut in the coming months. The South Korean company is also expected to release Galaxy A20 low-end phone in the near future. A recent report had claimed that the Galaxy A20 will also have a variant that be arriving as an Android Go phone.

Meanwhile, a latest report has revealed that the Galaxy A90 will be equipped with a pop-up slider mechanism for the camera like the Oppo Find X along with a rotating motor like the older Oppo N1. There is no information available on the specs of the Galaxy A90.
