Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro recently surfaced in renders showing off all three color variants, but the company had yet to speak a word about the phone.
Now, the same company has secretly launched the Galaxy C7 Pro in China after the phone appeared on the official Samsung website for the country. The portal shows the looks of the phone, just as they had appeared in previous press leaks, but this is not all that is there to see.
Samsung has gone ahead to list the specifications of the Galaxy C7 Pro, meaning the games with rumor mills and leaks are no more. It has recently been confirmed that the Galaxy C7 Pro will begin pre-orders beginning January 16 and to make sure that this happens, the company has secretly listed the phone on its Chinese website.
From what we have, Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display screen that is equipped with a Full HD 1080p resolution and always on display technology. This is the same always on feature that you find on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, meaning you won’t have to press a button in order to check the time of the day or date, among other things.
Under the hood, the Galaxy C7 Pro packs a Snapdragon 626 that is clocked at a speed of 2.2GHz and is paired with an Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB RAM. There is 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD card expansion of up to 256GB. With the company having just launched its first Android Nougat update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the C7 Pro had no chance of coming preinstalled with this OS. Instead, Android Marshmallow still runs the show.
Even though there is a USB-C port on the phone instead of a microUSB port, you still get a 3.5mm headphone jack. Samsung has borrowed a leaf from the Galaxy A 2017 family by packing 16MP sensors on both the front and back panel of the phone. The battery is also big at 3300mAh and supports fast charging technology. The midrange phone also supports LTE connectivity, has a fingerprint scanner and can be used to make mobile payments via Android Pay or Samsung Pay thanks to the NFC chip on board.
The phone is available in Rose pink (powder), Maple leaf gold and Arctic blue color variants and priced at CNY 2799. The smaller C5 Pro will be valued at CNY 2399.
