In a newly leaked Samsung trademark, the South Korean tech giant has filed for a new device with the name Galaxy J3 Luna Pro.
According to details coming from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Samsung filed for this trademark towards the end of last month. Looking at this name, it is easy to say that the Galaxy J3 Luna Pro could be a variant of the 2016 Galaxy J3 Pro. It is not unusual for Samsung to come in with revised versions of its previously-released phones. We’ve seen the likes of Samsung Galaxy C Pro series come in as revised versions of the original Galaxy C. Similarly, the Galaxy J Prime series has also come representing revised variants of the Galaxy J series.
With the new Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro, however, it is the first of its kind, hence Samsung’s meeting with the USPTO. So, could this be the mystery Galaxy J3 variant that has been doing rounds with a strange model number SM-J327VL? We should be able to find out this very soon.
Meanwhile, last year’s Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro came in with a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display screen alongside a Snapdragon 410 processor. This was paired with a RAM of 2GB and onboard storage of 16GB, but it can be expanded via a microSD card. The rear panel has an 8MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture, AF and LED flash. The front lens has the same aperture, but the megapixel count is lower at 5MP. There is a 2600mAh battery to keep the phone going and it comes with Android Lollipop out of the box.
As noted earlier, the new Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro should be an upgraded variant of the original J3 Pro. This means that specs like a Snapdragon 430, 32GB storage, Android Marshmallow and a few other upgrades are expected. Still, don’t get your hopes too high as this is just a trademark and nothing concrete is out yet. Keep following and we’ll update you with the latest details about this phone.
