Samsung Galaxy J7 2018 has received a new FCC certification for the model numbers SM-J720M and SM-J720M/DS.
The listing doesn’t reveal much except for the dimensions of the smartphone along with a few other specs .
A device with this model number recently appeared in Bluetooth SIG as well as Wi-Fi Alliance website. In addition to this, the other variant of the device with model numbers SM-720F (Single SIM) and SM-J720F/DS (Dual SIM) was already certified in FCC a couple of weeks ago. This is supposed to be the international variant as indicated by the ‘F’ in the model number and this is the model that appeared in a Geekbench listing.
From FCC documents, we can find the dimensions as 153mm x 76mm (length x width). Diagonal measurements were seen to be 162mm for the full screen and 140mm for the display. This translates to a size of 5.5 inches for the display. The resolution is expected to be 1280×720 pixels.
From the Wi-Fi certification and Geekbench listings, it can be learnt that Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo will come with Android Oreo 8.0 and powered by Exynos 7885 octa core chipset with clock speed of 1.59 GHz.
Geekbench test suggests it’s coming with 3GB RAM though we are not sure if there would be a 4GB variant as well. The internal storage is expected to be 32GB. It also supports Bluetooth Version 5.0.
We also have some label information available.
It’s worth mentioning here that Samsung recently trademarked the terms ‘Galaxy J7 Crown‘ and ‘Galaxy J7 Orbit‘. We have to wait to see which model or carrier gets which name assigned. However, the device appears in Bluetooth listing with the name ‘Galaxy J7 Duo’. It could either be the name of the device or just a hint!
Now that the device is certified in FCC, we can expect quick announcement and official release real soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
