Not so long ago, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users in Europe started receiving the updated Android 7.0 Nougat OS on their phones.
Well, given that the two phones were released in the same year as Samsung Galaxy Note 5, it was never a doubt that the phablet will be joining the party sooner than later. As it is, the same region is once again leading the way in terms of Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update for the Galaxy Note 5, with the first case being confirmed in the Turkish market.
Back in February, an alleged Samsung Galaxy Android 7.0 Nougat roadmap was published by Samsung Turkey. At the time, the listing confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will start receiving the Nougat treat as from March 6. As usual with such dates, this one was subject to change, but the wait has not been long.
As at the time of this writing, Samsung Turkey seems to have started the official rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat to the newest Galaxy Note handset in the market. Those using Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in the region can expect to receive software version N920CXXU3CQC7 and it weighs 1.3GB.
With Turkey being the first market where Android 7.0 Nougat update has been rolled out to Samsung Galaxy Note 5, it could take a while before other markets start seeing the same update come their way. However, if you can’t wait, you can check for the update’s availability manually via Settings>About>System updates>Check for updates.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 starts getting the update to Android 7.0 Nougat at a time when the U.S. market has not yet received the update to the same OS as far as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are concerned. As noted earlier, the European market started seeing this update on the S6 series a few days ago and so far, it has only made it to India, but it has yet to hit the U.S. market. Hopefully, it won’t be long before this happens not only for the S6 and S6 Edge, but also for the Note 5.
