Samsung Galaxy Note 5 started receiving the update to Android 7.0 Nougat a few days ago, but this was only confirmed for a single market in Europe – Turkey.
The update carried firmware version N920CXXU3COC7, which means that it is going out to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 variants with model number SM-N920C. Just in case you didn’t know, this variant is also known as Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Duos and it also carries model number SM-N920CD. It is easily found in the Middle East as well as African markets.
While the release of Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy Note 5 Duos confirms that other Galaxy Note 5 phones will be receiving the update very soon, there’s no specific date in this case. However, those who are using the same phone with model number SM-N920G can also have something to smile about as the model should also be joining the party really soon.
According to a listing on GFXBench, it appears that Samsung is testing Android 7.0 Nougat on model SM-N920G of the Galaxy Note 5. This model is meant for the Indian market, but you will also find it in other Asian and South American markets such as Sri Lanka, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, among others.
Since Android 7.0 Nougat is already rolling out to the Galaxy Note 5, we presume that this listing on GFXBench is an indicator that all other variants of the phone, including the listed SM-N920G, will start receiving the update in the coming days, probably before the end of March.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of the 2015 flagships that the company is expected to update to Android 7.0 Nougat in the coming days, with the others being the Galaxy S6 trio, which has also started tasting the Nougat dessert in some markets including Europe and India.
