Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Geting Android 7.0 Nougat in Europe, Update Coming to S6 Series in Canada starting April 10

Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

About a week ago, it emerged that Samsung was planning to roll out an Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Europe.

Well, the South Korean tech giant has just started doing so, with reports coming from the region confirming that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ units can now receive the latest update to Android 7.0 Nougat over the air.

If you are using the Galaxy S6 Edge+ with model number SM-G928F, this is the time for you to get the new Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update on your phablet. The update is rolling out gradually and as such, not all units will receive the notification to download it at once. The wait for the notification could take days or even weeks, but if you can’t really wait, you can go the manual way via the phone’s Settings>About phone>System updates.

The update carries software version G928FXXU3CQC2 and bids goodbye to the year-old Android Marshmallow. Furthermore, your device will be left with the latest Android security patch for the month of March after installing this Nougat update. As usual, you’ll get all the features that come with Nougat, be it multi-window mode, a new UX, enhanced control over notifications and better battery performance.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Android 7.0 Nougat

If anything, the European region is the first to receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat on the Galaxy S6 Edge+. But there’s some good news for those using this phone in Canada. Apparently, the standard Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will join the S6 Edge+ in receiving the Nougat treat in this market starting April 10. To be more specific, TELUS users of any of these three phones can be sure of receiving the Nougat update in less than two weeks, a move that is also expected to be replicated by other carriers in the country.
