Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is still unannounced at the moment, however, this has not stopped American giant carrier AT&T from adding the rugged smartphone to its latest buy one get one free (BOGO) deals.
This means that the phone’s release is imminent and once it is here, those willing to grab one courtesy of AT&T can take advantage of the BOGO deal on offer.
The Galaxy S7 Active has been coming for quite some time now, especially since Samsung has made it a habit that it follows up the flagship S series with an Active variant that offers extra ruggedness. Just like in the past, the upcoming S7 Active will remain exclusive to AT&T.
The web has been full of leaks, speculations and rumors that a new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will soon be released. Even though some of the leaked images were clearly labeled with the phone’s name and AT&T logo on the back, none of either Samsung or AT&T had confirmed the arrival of this phone. The fact that the latter has added the rugged phone to its latest BOGO deals has just confirmed that the device is indeed coming.
The current promotion at AT&T is not permanent, rather, it will be coming to an end once June comes to and end too. With Samsung Galaxy S7 Active included in this one-month offer, it means that the phone will be released and availed for purchase somewhere before this month ends or if worse, early next month.
The deal is not just for the rugged Galaxy S7 Active, those looking to get a new Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and S6 Active are also welcome.
As mentioned earlier, Samsung has yet to unveil this S7 Active model. However, we already have some ideas of what the phone will pack courtesy of leaks coming from all angles of the internet. Apparently, the phone will carry a 5.1-inch display size, but the housing will be slightly larger than what you get on the same size Galaxy S7. Under the hood will be a Snapdragon 820 SoC and a RAM of 4GB. The camera specs also remain the same at 12MP for the main snapper and 5MP for the selfie camera.
Samsung re-introduced microSD card storage and water resistance in the new line of devices. While the former will feature on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Active to support the 32GB of onboard storage, the latter will come with even better standards, rumored to be military-grade protection standards.
Some other rumors are also pointing towards a Samsung Galaxy S7 Sport for Sprint users, but this remains to be a mere speculation. However, the Galaxy S7 Active begun as a rumor and it is now headed for reality. Maybe, this is the making of the S7 Sport version.
Note: AT&T has since then revised the BOGO offer to exclude Samsung Galaxy S7 Active.
