Availability Postponed

According to Ewan Blass of @evleaks, a tipster at VentureBeat, there are reports that the new flagship smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus, will now be available only on the 28th of April, instead of the 21st of April. According to Ewan Blass, there is no reason given for the change in the availability schedule. However, it is known that Samsung is being extremely cautious with the release of its latest flagship smartphone, after the debacle of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in 2016, according to the tipster.

Cause for Delay

The cause could be something to do with the inventory of the device. It is obvious that Samsung is planning major changes for the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus, so it is only to be assumed that the devices will be in high demand in the market, as soon as they are launched. There does not seem to be any technical problem related with the change in the schedule, as the public revealing of the phone on the 29th of March has not been changed.

April Release Traditional

Historically, Samsung has been releasing its Galaxy S series of phones during the month of April every year. For instance, the Galaxy S6, the S5 and the S4 were all released during the month of April, on the 10th April, 11th April and the 27th April respectively. Only the Samsung Galaxy S7 was released on the 11th of March. This led to some rumors claiming that an April release for the Galaxy S8 means that there is some issue or trouble with the devices.

Issues with the Galaxy S8

There are some issues with the Galaxy S8, as far as its commercial viability is concerned. For instance, the price is very high and another aspect is that the fingerprint reader is placed very oddly. However, it is too late to correct the latter aspect now. All said and done, 2017 could be a great year for grand smartphones. Apple is all set to release the iPhone 8 with a grand redesigning and as for Google the company has confirmed the release of the Pixel 2 this year.

Bad News

One bad news regarding the Galaxy S8 is that it might come with a battery of 3000 mAh, whereas the Galaxy S8 Plus could have a 3500-mAh battery. Earlier, it was reported that there would be 250 mAh more for the devices. This could pose a problem, as the displays on the devices are massive and will be a major drain on its battery.
