Upcoming Samsung SM-A260F phone has shown up in Geekbench listings today which confirms that this would be an Android Go Phone.
Samsung has already released Android Go phones in the past but they were in the ‘J’ series. Galaxy J2 core (SM-J260) was the first ever Android Go phone from the company. Then Samsung followed it with Galaxy J4 core. And now, it isn’t surprising to know Samsung has decided to introduce Android Go in the upcoming Galaxy-A lineup on 2019.
SM-A260 is one among the nine Galaxy A phones to be released in the first half of 2019. While we have already seen SM-A205 appear in Geekbench, this is the first time we are seeing the SM-A260 model number appear online. We are yet to see SM-A202, which is also in the works.
The Geekbench listing of SM-A260F shows the single core and multi core score as 726 and 2984 respectively. Since it’s an Android Go phone, the RAM is just 1 GB. The phone will come with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box and the processor is Exynos 7870 SoC which clocks at a speed of 1.59 GHz.
On the other hand, SM-A205F has a slightly better processor Exynos 7885 SoC and 3 GB RAM. The OS will be Android 9 for SM-A205F and the Geekbench scores are 1091 and 3453 respectively. However, the clock speed of this phone is just 1.35 GHz.
As of now, we don’t have any other info about this phone but we’ll keep you posted as we receive more updates on this budget A-series phone and other Galaxy-A series phones too.
