Google has brought a rather unexpected update to Allo, its new instant messaging app on both the Android and iOS platforms.
The latest upgrade brings a couple of fresh features to the messaging application that was launched recently, which includes a brushed up Smart Smiley button and background themes for chats that are interchangeable.
Google had mentioned in its the official blog post that now it is very easy to express your feelings with an emoji, be it if you are laughing or if you are crying or if you are hungry for ramen or for a burger, or if you are planning a night in or a night out. From now on, it is going to be much simpler to look out for the perfect stickers and emojis in Google Allo. And for the very first time, there is a possibility of bringing the magic of the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” by J.K. Rowling, right there into your chats.
Smart Smiley to Express
Well, there have been quite a number of times when you would have needed a little help to find the right emoji. It does not come as a surprise that though there are so many emojis out there, still we keep using only a handful (almost less than 3%) of these emojis most of the time. That is why Google has added a new feature to its Allo messaging app so that it will be easier to find the right sticker or emoji and send them across. All you have to do is simply tap on the Smart Smiley button while you are typing your message, and Allo will keep suggesting you with the relevant emojis and stickers so that it will help you to finish expressing your thought. For example, if you are planning to go out for dinner with a friend, you may see relevant emojis or stickers of ramen, a bowl of soup, a burger, a sticker ready ‘Hungry’ etc. being suggested. Or in case you type “Bye” or “see you later” there will be suggestions offered to complete that thought with a hand wave sticker and other relevant emojis.
The auto-suggestions for the emojis and stickers will keep changing depending on the words that are being written and based on the sentiment of the message. If you have not yet started typing, then Smart Smiley will offer suggestions based on the previous conversation so that the perfect sticker is away by just a single tap. The Smart Smiley is a good way of having some great fun. In fact, with the introduction of the auto-suggested Smart Smiley, the numbers of stickers being shared has increased by 30%.
Stickers of “Fantastic Beasts”
With Google Allo now having new stickers available based on the film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” made by Warner Bros, it is time to share all your adventures with your friends and family after testing your hands at magic. Google has worked well to bring the wizarding world right there into the Allo chats by using stickers that have been inspired by the film.
Google has also added a new feature which will help in discovering new sticker packs. So from now on, when a friend sends you a sticker which you do have it yet in your pack, you can quickly download that new sticker pack by just tapping on that sticker.
New Themes for the Chats
Google has brought in another amazing feature to Allo wherein you can now match your conversation according to your mood. The search giant has now added background themes for the instant messaging chats on Allo. So from now you can choose from a range of backgrounds which range from “Watermelon” to “Sorbet,” which will compliment your style so that you can express what you are feeling like right now.
The new updated Google Allo is available for download on both the Android and iOS platforms. Google has already started to roll out these new features, and they should be available across the globe in the next few days. The Smart Smiley feature will be available as of now only in English, to begin with, which in the course is expected to come for more languages.
