Sony Xperia XZ Premium and up to three Xperia X 2017 Phones Leaked ahead of MWC 2017 Launch

Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Sony Xperia X 2017

Sony Xperia X 2017 series is expected to be launched at the MWC 2017 event that starts tomorrow, but in a surprise turn of events, it appears that the Japanese tech giant has plans to add an Xperia XZ Premium to the lineup.

A few hours ago, the alleged Sony Xperia XZ Premium leaked online and from the looks, the two phones have a lot in common. As you may know, the original Xperia XZ was launched at the IFA 2016 and released later in October, priced at $699. For this price, the phone packed some impressive specs under the hood, including the 2016 flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3GB RAM. While the latest XZ Premium is expected to up these specs, there won’t be significant changes to the design language.

From the leaked images, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium comes with a new mirror-like back that can reflect stuff. Other than this change, the phone is also expected to come with a new camera that can record videos at 960 frames per second as well as support for amazing low-light images as well as anti-distortion. Apparently, the phone should come with a Snapdragon 835 SoC alongside a 4K HDR screen.

Now, in another separate leak, notable tipster Evan Blass has stumbled upon a series of Sony Xperia X 2017 phones and among them is the already-leaked Xperia XZ Premium. The image shows off four Xperia phones and since one is known, the other three remain a mystery – but we should find out very soon

Last year, Sony was at the MWC and launched three phones – Xperia XA, Xperia X and Xperia X Performance. From the leaked images, it seems that the device on the right of the alleged Xperia XZ Premium could be a successor to the Xperia X Performance while the two on the left could be anything between Xperia X 2017 and Xperia XA 2017. Note that these are just educated guesses, but as noted earlier, it won’t be long before we get our hands on the full details. Stay tuned!
