The most powerful and the extremely stylish SEAT Leon Cupra R has been officially launched days ahead of the big Frankfurt Motor Show reveal.
The car, according to the auto brand is the most powerful Cupra ever created and will be a limited edition model.
The high powered, potent variants always create a huge impact on audience because they stand apart from the conventional models. The newly revealed Leon Cupra R is no different as it receives numerous tweaks and performance improvements as a whole. The car features a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine which has been revamped so that it can produce an impressive 306 horsepower. It is the most powerful car ever built by SEAT that makes the brand very proud of their achievement.
The powertrain is mated to a six speed manual gearbox while the car supports front wheel drive only. There is no option to upgrade it to an all-wheel drive as the engine has been designed in such a way to provide maximum output with the current setup. Buyers do have the option to upgrade the vehicle with a six speed DSG version which will produce a lower 300 horsepower output.
As the SEAT Leon Cupra R is still in its early stages and a full reveal is set for the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, performance figures of the car still remains under wraps. Based on the initial numbers, the car is expected to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds while the top speed will be limited at 155mph. The car will be equipped with an adaptive suspension system that is a proprietary technology from SEAT and provides a new level of comfort for passengers.
A touch of luxury is evident in this limited edition model which has been integrated throughout the interior and through various added features. The style quotient is rendered by the aggressive front and rear bumpers which is now accompanied with a rear diffuser. SEAT has kept the cabin under wraps and it should probably be revealed at the Frankfurt show. So far, the confirmed features include Alcantara fabric covering on the seats and the gearsticks. The cabin will also use generous amounts of copper and carbon fiber materials to provide a luxurious finish to the car.
About 799 models of the SEAT Leon Cupra R will be produced by the manufacturer and the car’s pricing pegged at £33,000 is aimed at those driving enthusiasts who wouldn’t settle for the less.
