There is no doubt about the fact that the Swift from Maruti Suzuki has been considered as one of the best selling hatchbacks in the whole country.

In fact, Swift is the car which had introduced the models of large and good looking hatchbacks to the Indian customers. After going through a couple of minor changes in the past, it is time for the Swift to witness an overhaul. The first analysis of the 2017 Suzuki Swift Dzire had come out some time back in March, wherein it had appeared with a huge hexagonal front grille. Now, a new image of the all-new Swift’s production model has come out on the internet, on Facebook page Ferd, and it is indeed very similar to all the renderings that were expected of it.

The Swift Dzire from the Indo-Japanese auto major, Maruti Suzuki, has reportedly been one of the top-selling automobiles in India. Just last year, the Swift Dzire had received a new facelift and now, it looks like Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch the new generation of the car by the next year. By taking into consideration the latest shots of the car that have been surfacing online, the 2017 Maruti Swift Dzire is expected to dish out most of its style inklings with the new-gen Swift hatchback.

The new 2017 Swift Dzire is still undergoing all the testing and is expected to be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

The Exteriors

The all new image of the Swift shows a redesigned hexagonal front grille, which is little smaller in the size when compared to the one on the renderings. Even the bumper is a bit different with aggressive creases, large round fog lamp housings, a sleek air dam as well as a new bonnet. The new wrap-around headlamps, which are also accompanied by daytime running lights, come garnished with a new chrome finish and with a new design of the bonnet. Another new feature of the 2017 Swift is the floating roof, with the generosity of it coming from the black tug present on the C-pillar and the alloy design. The rear profile of the car has not yet been revealed, there have been reports that the rear door handles have been moved up beside the window, just like that of the Chevrolet Beat. The tail lamps are expected to be redesigned with new LED lighting and a restyled rear bumper, along with few more minor updates. The design of the car does not seem to have changed much on the sides too, apart from a couple of new features and updated proportions that include the new ORVMs and the alloy wheels.

The Interiors

The interiors of the 2017 Swift will now feature a brand new cabin. The important highlights of the insides are the new 3-spoke steering wheel that is flat-bottomed, a revamped dashboard equipped with the SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system exclusive to the Suzuki apart from the redesigned AC knobs and vents.

Under the Hood

The Swift is most likely to retain the K-Series petrol engine of 1.2 liters capacity and a DDiS diesel engine of 1.3 liters capacity in the Indian automobile market. Like the outgoing model, the petrol version of the car is also expected to come mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox as a standard feature and also with an optional 4-speed auto box and the diesel version is expected to come with a 5-speed AMT unit. Considering the fact that Maruti is soon planning on introducing SHVS technology across its range, it will not be surprising to see the SHVS mild hybrid technology arriving to the diesel variants of the Swift Dzire too.

If good luck showers on the Indian market, an automatic option and a turbo petrol engine of 1.0 liters capacity might arrive as well.

Other Features

Though all the interior changes of the car are still unknown, a slightly updated cabin is expected to arrive with a dual toned color scheme with a better quality of the interiors. The other features include keyless entry with engine Stop/Start button, automatic climate control, a reverse camera for the touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system and navigation and controls mounted on the steering wheel. The car will also come with a few safety features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD which in all possibilities might arrive as standard offerings like it is currently being offered as an option for the base variants.

By looking at the images that have been released recently, it is expected that the new 2017 Swift, which is still in its early testing stages, might mark its global debut in 2017 and in India, the launch is expected to take place shortly after that, probably in the second half of the next year.
