Last month, the Huawei Honor V9 appeared on China’s TENAA, all but confirming some of the significant specs of the phone.
While this appearance confirmed that the Huawei Honor V9 will be available for purchase very soon, a new report came in over the weekend claiming that this phone could be sold outside China as the Huawei Honor 8 Pro. The former has already materialized, but the latter has yet to be confirmed.
The Huawei Honor V9 has already been launched in China and whether or not it will be sold in other markets as the Huawei Honor 8 Pro is still unknown. For those in China, there is more to rejoice given what the new phone brings to the table, especially when compared to the 2016 model – the Honor V8.
While the major highlights of the Huawei Honor V9 might be the dual-lens camera on the back alongside a massive 4000mAh battery, the phone packs quite an impressive set of hardware specs as well. Just like the many rumors, leaks and speculations had pointed out, the alleged Honor 8 Pro comes with a huge 5.7-inch display screen similar to the V8, but the resolution is no longer Full HD, instead, Honor went for a QHD screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Under the hood, the unveiled Honor V9 has an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor clocked at a speed of 2.4GHz and is paired with a huge 6GB RAM, although this is not something new for the Chinese market. The storage available is also big at 128GB alongside room to expand it via a microSD card of similar capacity. As usual, the phone has dual-SIM support.
This time the Huawei Honor V9 or rather Honor 8 Pro follows in the footsteps of the Honor V8 in terms of camera specs. The back has a dual-lens camera setup, but the lenses are a bit different at 12MP+2MP. As for the front, there is an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. As noted earlier, there’s a huge 4000mAh battery to keep the phone alive as well as Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
