Xiaomi Redmi 7

Today, we spotted a new Redmi smartphone on the IMDA database in Singapore. This device comes with model number M1903F10G.

Interestingly, a smartphone with the same model number was spotted at EEC (Russian certification) last month, along with a few other devices. Unfortunately, the certification did not say any more details about this device but the most probable speculation is not far fetched.

Redmi’s Snapgradon 855 Phone

An upcoming Redmi Snapdragon 855 smartphone is arguably the most anticipated smartphone in the industry. There have been numerous leaks and speculation but only a few have been officially confirmed by the company. It is believed that this smartphone will be released this month; thus it correlates with the latest certifications.

For now, not much is known about the upcoming Redmi smartphone besides the fact that it will use an SD855 chip. Recently, Redmi’s general manager and Xiaomi’s VP, Liu Weibing was spotted with this smartphone. His latest message on Weibo is posted with a “Redmi’s flagship Android” phone which is probably the upcoming Redmi flagship.

Redmi X vs Redmi K20 Pro

Even the nomenclature of this device has not been verified. Initially, there were reports that it will be called Redmi Pro 2, later, the name Redmi X appeared online. These names have been officially debunked by the company. Most recently, a Redmi smartphone called Redmi K20 Pro and its specs matched the upcoming Redmi flagship smartphone. This name has not been verified by the company.

Other reports show that this device is internally called “Raphael” and it is going to have a 256 GB version with a manually open “GPU overclocking” feature. In the camera department, we will likely see a pop-up selfie camera design and it will be the first Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone to use a pop-up design. Lu Weibing mentioned that the Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship has a powerful camera and a long-lasting battery life. He wasn’t specific but a powerful camera will not be less than a 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor (should have multiple camera sensors on the rear) and the battery should not be less than 4000 mAh.

Redmi general manager also confirmed that this upcoming smartphone will come with a very narrow chin and it will retain the 3.5 mm headphone jack. As for its price, Redmi considers itself as the “king of cost” thus we expect this device to be one of the cheapest Snapdragon 855 SoC in the industry.
