Valentine’s Day Deal: Oppo R9s Red Edition – A Perfect Gift for your Loved one

Oppo R9s Red Edition

The Oppo R9s is one of the best selfie phones you can find in the midrange market. The phone’s maker, against all odds, managed to topple Apple and become the best-selling smartphone OEM in China with a total of 17 million units of the Oppo R9 sold in 2016.

Launched last year September, the Oppo R9 comes in three color variants – Gold, Black and Rose Gold. Now, as if aiming to make the most out of the upcoming Valentine’s Day, Oppo has unveiled a new Red color variant of the R9. This release also comes at a time when the Chinese people are celebrating their New Year festival – a festival where Red is seen as a symbol of good fortune and happiness.

According to reports, the Oppo R9s will be available in several markets in time for the Valentine’s Day celebrations, which is just two weeks from now. However, don’t expect anything new apart from this color change, with the rest of the specs set to remain the same as the original variant.

What this means is that the Red Oppo R9s will still ship with a metallic unibody that houses a 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). Despite being a midrange phone, you get protection from the best-in-the-market – Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. This promises to keep the screen secure from scratches and cracks caused by accidental drops, among others. Under the hood, the R9s has midrange specs that are led by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with a RAM of 4GB. There is 64GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card of up to 128GB.

As noted at the beginning, the Oppo R9s is one of the best selfie phones around. It comes with a 16MP sensor on the front that has an aperture of f/2.0. On the back is a similar 16MP sensor, but this one has more features, including PDAF, f/1.7 aperture, HDR and LED flash, among others. To keep the phone going is a huge 3010mAh battery unit that is supported by the company’s VOOC Flash Charging technology. The fingerprint scanner can be found on the home button.

In terms of pricing, there is no word on whether the Red Oppo R9s will take a different direction from the price tags of the Gold and Rose Gold variants, which are priced at CNY 2,799 in China.

How about this for a Valentine’s Day gift?
