Verizon’s latest batch of phones to be sent the OTA software update patches include the LG G7 ThinQ, the LG V40 ThinQ, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9.
Three of these devices are being provided with the Android firmware updates released by Google in May 2019 while the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 alone gets the latest June Android security update patch. Users with any of these devices bought from Verizon need to follow the basic instructions given by Verizon with regard to keeping your phone connected to a Wi-Fi source and the phone’s battery charged to at least 50% so that the updates can be smoothly installed automatically.
LG G7 ThinQ Software Update
The LG G7 ThinQ smartphone from the Verizon stable is receiving its 8th update now, the last one having been in April 2019. Verizon is sending in this update the Android security patch it had received in May 2019. This is the latest security update for this phone.
LG V40 ThinQ Software Update
The next smartphone in this firmware update list is the LG V40 ThinQ. This phone was released by LG after a few months of the LG G7 ThinQ and its system update from Verizon is the 5th. The contents of this update include only the latest Android security patch of May 2019.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Software Update
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is already in its third year from the time it was first released in 2017 and has received 18 updates from Verizon prior to this and this is the 19th one. As mentioned above, this is one device among the four covered here, receiving the Android security patch of June 2019. The present update does not cover anything other than this firmware security patch.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Software Update
Successor the Note 8, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets its 8th update from Verizon now. In addition to the Android security patch of May 2019, the current software update from Verizon includes some performance improvements too as indicated by Verizon in the notes on the update page on its site.
