[Video] Samsung May have Revealed the Galaxy S8 in this TV Ad

Samsung Galaxy S8 Leak

Samsung can at times be interesting with how it does things and the latest may take you by surprise. Apparently, the South Korean tech giant may just have revealed the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 in a new TV advertisement.

The Samsung Display ad features a mystery Samsung Galaxy phone that has a lot in common with the rumored S8. To add more weight to these claims, the ad is in Korean, which is Samsung’s home country. As noted, the phone shares a lot with what many rumors are saying about Samsung Galaxy S8. One such feature is the missing physical home button.

According to reports, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will not be coming with a physical home button. Instead, the home button will be on-screen, just like a few other OEMs already do with their Android devices. The phone in this Samsung ad ticks this box. Another feature that has been in the rumors is a curved edge-to-edge display with very thin bezels all around the phone as well as talk of a flat screen variant. As it appears, the model in the video doesn’t have a curved display, but the bezels are indeed thin. The location or rather positions of the power button and volume rocker keys hasn’t changed when compared to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

There have been reports that Samsung will be ready for the MWC 2017 event with a few handsets of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Who knows – this could be a reference design for the upcoming event. The change in design will hand the Galaxy S8 a larger display size even if the same dimensions of the Galaxy S7 were to be retained. But given that the phone will come with thinner bezels, the standard model is rumored to be coming with a 5.7-inch screen while the S8 Plus will carry a 6.2-inch panel.

Samsung will also make use of the Snapdragon 835 SoC that is being manufactured under its watch via the 10nm process. This will reportedly be paired with a RAM of 6GB and onboard storage of 64GB. Android Nougat will power the phone out of the box.
