Vivo V5 Plus was recently given a release date, with reports citing January 20th as the date this phone will see the light.
While this was not an official communication from Vivo itself, more details just coming in seem to be adding weight to this previous claim. As it is, the Vivo V5 Plus has just been certified by the Indonesian authorities. While the leaked detail doesn’t specifically mention this phone, the fact that the model in question is 1606, a figure that can easily be identified with the Vivo V5, whose model number is 1601.
Previously, it was reported that the V5 Plus will be unveiled next Friday in Malaysia. It has also been revealed that those in India will start seeing this phone three days later. With this new development, there is no doubt that the phone’s release (or launch) is just around the corner.
In past leaks, the Vivo V5 Plus was rumored to be shipping with a Snapdragon 652 processor instead of a MediaTek Helio processor like its predecessor. Well, as it is, this won’t be the case, but at least a Qualcomm processor will still be running the show. Rather than the snappier 652, Vivo has supposedly gone for a Snapdragon 425 processor with an Adreno 308 GPU.
The Vivo V5 Plus should come in with a 5.5-inch display screen with Full HD resolution and the processor will reportedly be paired with a RAM of 4GB. Vivo could sell two variants of the phone, with one shipping with 32GB and the other 64GB of storage. As for the battery, expect a larger 3300mAh battery as opposed to the 3000mAh used on the Vivo V5 alongside support for fast charging technology.
In terms of cameras, the V5 Plus will come with a dual-lens camera on the front – 20MP+8MP. If anything, this is the selling point of the upcoming Vivo phone – it is meant for selfie lovers.
Vivo V5 Plus will still run on Android Marshmallow even though Android Nougat already here. Whether there will be a future update or not is still unknown.
