Vivo has trademarked a bunch of names for its upcoming smartphones in the European Union and the list includes 5 new names including NEX Play.
A total of 7 trademarks have been filed by Vivo on 12th and 13th of December, out of which 6 were filed in the EUIPO, which is the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The names include NEX S, NEX V, NEX X, NEX Y, NEX Z and NEX PLAY. Out of these, Vivo has already released NEX S (along with Vivo NEX A) in June this year. NEX S was also called as Vivo NEX Special Edition phone or Vivo NEX Ultimate.
The other trademark was filed in Spain for the term VIVO NEX which indicates that Spain could be the next market that Vivo has targeted.
NEX PLAY could be Vivo first gaming phone
Among the trademarks, we can find NEX PLAY which hints that it could be a high end gaming phone. This could offer a stiff competition to gaming phones from other brands like Razer Phone 2, Asus ROG Phone, Xiaomi Black Shark and Honor Play.
