Alleged Sony Xperia L3 / Xperia XA3 Variants Certified in EEC with Model Numbers I4113, I4213 and I4312

Sony Xperia XA3

Three new Sony smartphones with model numbers I4113, I4213 and I4312 have been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) today and they are likely to be Xperia L3 or Xperia XA3 series phones.

Sony has already launched Xperia L2, Xperia XA2 and Xperia XZ2 variants in addition to Xperia XZ3 in 2018. In 2019, we can expect Sony to release their successors.

The model numbers of Sony phones released in the year 2018 had a prefix of ‘H’ and the phones released in 2017 had a prefix of ‘G’ in the model numbers. As per this naming convention followed by Sony, the 2019 models would have ‘I’ as prefix and that’s exactly what we see here, which confirms that they are the upcoming Sony phones that would be released in 2019.

Sony Xperia XZ4 / Xperia XZ4 Compact

Sony Xperia XZ4 and Sony Xperia XZ4 Compact are two confirmed variants for 2019 and their renders are doing the rounds in the web already with specifications revealed as well. However,  these are pretty high end flagship variants of the company and the model naming convention doesn’t indicate I4113, I4213 and I4312 to be either of Xperia XZ4 or Xperia XZ4 Compact and these are likely to bear the model numbers in the range of I8xx or I9xx.

Could be Sony Xperia L3 / Sony Xperia XA3

The three model numbers found in the EEC certification are I4113, I4213 and I4312. If we compare the 2018 variants with similar model numbers, we can figure out that H4113 belonged to Sony Xperia XA2, H4213 belonged to Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra whereas H4312 is not known.

With this information, it’s safe to conclude that the model numbers that have obtained certification are certainly not the Xperia XZ4 flagship or XZ4 Compact but the mid-range variants of Xperia L3 or Xperia XA3/XA3 Ultra/XA3 Plus.
