The Vivo V5 Plus has already been launched in Malaysia, but it has yet to make its way to other parts of the world, including India.
However, it won’t be long before the phone arrives as previous reports had pegged the launch event on January 23, which is Monday next week. The same phone that was recently launched in Malaysia will also be launched in India, meaning you get a chance to enjoy the dual-lens selfie camera of the handset.
To further confirm that the Vivo V5 Plus is indeed headed to India, the phone has already been availed for pre-order and is valued at Rs 27,980. This is just about the same price tag that the phone received at launch, however, Indians who pre-book the smartphone will also be handed a free VR box.
As noted, the Vivo V5 Plus has already been launched and as such, we already know the specs and features of the phone. For starters, you get a huge 5.5-inch screen to greet you. The quality is great thanks to the Full HD resolution it comes, but this is not all. According to Vivo, the V5 Plus has a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top of the screen to ensure that you don’t end up with a cracked screen when the phone accidentally falls down.
Under the hood, the Vivo V5 Plus has an 8-core Snapdragon 625 SoC that is clocked at a speed of 2GHz and is paired with an Adreno 506 graphics processing unit. There is a RAM of 4GB and internal storage of 64GB. Android Marshmallow runs the show, but it’s not stock, rather, it’s based on the company’s FuntouchOS 3.0.
Coming to the most eye-catching feature – the camera – you get a dual-lens selfie setup that consists of a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and Moonlight Flash alongside another 8MP sensor. On the back, you’ll come across a 16MP shooter with the same aperture and PDAF. To keep you going is a 3160mAh battery that supports fast charging technology.
