Xiaomi is slowly becoming a global force after years of dominance in China and other Asian markets. To do this, the company has been increasing its product portfolio as far as the high-end market is concerned, with the latest of them being the Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
Released towards the end of last year, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 might have been overshadowed by the impressive Mi MIX, which was unveiled alongside the former, but the Chinese OEM might be having other plans as far as pushing the phone further into the market is concerned.
We all know what color can do to a product’s demand. We’ve seen it with the blue coral Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge/Galaxy Note 7, the really blue Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the jet black iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and so on. Apparently, Xiaomi wants to take this lane in trying to lure more people into buying the Mi Note 2 phablet.
So far, the phone is available in three color variants of silver, gold and the usual black, however, according to the latest reports, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 might get a new color variant in the coming days to make it four. The color in question here is cherry pink and even though the company has not said a thing about it, a leaked image on Weibo gives us a clear view of what the phone’s new color variant could look like.
Given the dotted authenticity of the leak, it is advisable to get too excited about this alleged cherry pink Xiaomi Mi Note 2. In fact, you may have heard rumors at some point that the company has plans to unveil a coral blue – a color variant that was even teased by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, towards the end of January, but this has never materialized. If anything, this could end up being a similar case, but only time will tell.
If it happens to be a reality, the cherry pink Xiaomi Mi Note 2 should keep the same price and specs as the other variants. The phone has a price tag of CNY 2,799, which is about $405.
