During the recent CES 2017 held in early January, ZTE showcased its Blade V8 Pro with a promise to make it available within a few weeks.

The manufacturer has kept its word and its first Blade smartphone is now available for customers in the US through popular e-commerce retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy and B&H Photo. Some retailers like Newegg have taken it a step ahead and are offering noise-cancelling headphones as freebies with the gadget. However, the handset is yet to reach physical stores. Although priced in the mid-range category, this device has many interesting features that most smartphone manufacturers usually tend to reserve for their flagship instruments. The V8 Pro is fairly large in terms of size and neither lightweight nor bulky.

One of the key highlights in the ZTE Blade V8 Pro is its dual camera setup. As the term indicates, the rear setup supports dual LED flash and two lenses, each of which has a 13MP shooter. The front snapper also appears to be promising with an 8MP camera. This gives users assurance of decent quality video calls and selfies. Yet another noteworthy feature is the processor and RAM configuration. The ZTE Blade smartphone comes with a 2GHz clocking octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that is known to render decent performance. This is supplemented by an Adreno 506 graphics processor. The 3GB RAM ensures smooth and seamless performance. The built-in 32GB RAM can be increased further by inserting an appropriate memory card in the second SIM card slot. The handset comes preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

On the display front, the ZTE device has an IPS LCD 5.5-inch screen. The Full HD (1080p) screen has a pixel density of 401pp that renders clear texts and images. Added to this, the glass used is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that prevents the formation of scratches. The Blade V8 Pro houses the fingerprint sensor right below the screen so that it can be accessed easily whenever needed. The huge non-removable 3,140 mAh battery supporting the Quick Charge 2.0 technology from Qualcomm is another worth mentioning attribute. Last but not the least; the ZTE Blade V8 Pro has a bevy of connectivity options. These include Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band, hotspot and Direct), 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2 with LE and A2DP, NFC, OTA sync and USB 2.0 and Type C 1.0 (reversible).
