At some point, developers are bound to get annoyed by the limitations on the PS4 and Xbox One console.
The consoles have often stopped developers from making the big leap and pushing games with the best possible graphics.
Addressing the issue, Sony launched the PS4 Pro console and Microsoft is out with what they call the most powerful console of all time, Xbox One X. Both these consoles are supposed to be able to play games at 4K resolution and all 1080p titles at at least 60 frames per second. However, that is not the case with the upcoming title Destiny 2. Bungie’s executive producer Mark Noseworthy provided a detail clarification of why they wouldn’t allow the game to run at 1080p, 60 frames per second even on the new generation consoles. Surprisingly, he didn’t contain himself and openly supported the PC Master Race requesting gamers to go with it if they can to experience the best.
Destiny 2 is an amazing open world title by Bungie which will soon be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One consoles. The sequel will offer more enemies, an even more expansive location and most important give enough missions to keep players engaged. Talking about the game, he said, “At every point in the game, there will be six players going against 30 different AI opponents. The same sequence will feature dropships and sometimes there are vehicles. Adding to the demand is the large open world map that usually has long draw distances and gives the game the scale it needs.”
“While we would love to have Destiny 2 run at 60 frames per second on the new consoles, it would obviously lead to performance dips. The developers will be forced to reduce the number of AI enemies, make the map look smaller and compromise on the graphical quality as well. Locking it at 30 FPS on both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X console seems to be a fair way to go. And, there is always the one platform where you can spend as much as you want and boost your FPS as well as visuals to any extent you love,” he added.
The last obvious remark by Destiny 2’s executive producer refers to the PC Master Race. The game has been well optimized for PC with ultrawide monitor support, unlimited FPS, 4K, HDR, SLI and FOV Slider. Bungie and it’s lead people seem to suggest that going with a computer if you are willing to spend more is the best way to play this first person shooter.
