Huawei has found a way to reach out to the young people via its Honor brand and the latest phone to come from this line of production is the Honor 6X.
While the phone is not out of this world, it will for sure make you feel like being part of the smartphone generation. In order to attract more buyers, the Honor 6X comes with a pretty impressive specs sheet, design as well as price, but B&H Photo wants to give you more when you pre-order this phone from the retailer.
The price hasn’t changed, meaning you still get to pay $249, just like other retailers are selling it. However, once you do this, B&H Photo Video has more offerings. Apparently, the purchase of the Huawei Honor 6X will gift you an ASUS ZenPower Pro Portable Battery Pack that has a capacity of 10050mAh, a Spieltek VR-M2 VR headset and a JBL Synchros E40BT Bluetooth On-Ear headsets. This set of free gifts costs a total of $195.
Looking at it from another angle, B&H Photo is selling you the Huawei Honor 6X for a mere $54. Just to remind you, the Honor 6X ships with a 5.5-inch display screen with Full HD resolution, a Kirin 655 processor that is paired with 3GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage and is also unlocked for use with all GSM carriers.
The back of the phone has a dual-lens camera with a 12MP lens and another 2MP lens and the front has an 8MP shooter. The Honor 6X supports LTE connectivity, has a 3340mAh battery capacity and runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box, although Nougat is coming very soon. You can get the phone in gold, silver or gray. For now, there is no word on whether the same offer will be extended to the 4GB/64GB variant. Also, B&H Photo only says that the Honor 6X will be coming soon, but there is no exact date.
If the Huawei Honor 6X is not your type, B&H Photo is also offering the 64GB variant of the Google Nexus 6P at an impressive discount of $70. This means that instead of paying the usual $549.99, the retailer is selling the 2015 flagship at $479.99. However, this is only applicable for the Aluminum color variant. If you want the Gold finish, the retailer lists the Nexus 6P at $499.99 while the Graphite variant is valued at $529.00. Either way, you get to save something.
In terms of specs and features, nothing changes. You still get the same Google Nexus 6P that comes with a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, the Nexus 6P ships with a Snapdragon 810 processor that is clocked at 2.0GHz and is paired with an Adreno 430 GPU alongside a RAM of 3GB. Like the Huawei Honor 6X, the variant on offer here is unlocked, but this one can work on all GSM and CDMA carriers, something the 6X can’t.
In terms of storage, the Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P has three variants of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, but B&H Photo has only listed the middle version. Keep in mind that the Nexus line doesn’t ship with a microSD card storage, meaning this 64GB is all you get. The back has a single camera with a 12.3MP lens that comes with laser AF, dual-tone LED flash, HDR, and f/2.0 aperture. The front shooter comes with an 8MP lens that has an aperture of f/2.4 and can record 1080p videos.
The Google Nexus 6P has a battery unit of 3450mAh, which is slightly larger than the Honor 6X. Even though both phones have been preinstalled with Android Marshmallow, the Nexus 6P’s update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat is already available.
Keep in mind that the Huawei Honor 6X is only available for pre-order, but the Google Nexus 6P can be purchased right away. So, which one will it be? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments.
