Rockstar Games, the developer of the Grand Theft Auto, is widely expected to release GTA 6 but it couldn’t have been sitting prettier.
GTA 5 is being played now by more gamers that ever before. Why would the developer distract them with a new version of the game however attractive it might seem from other perspectives? The reports on the kind of latest numbers being thrown up on the GTA 5 are prompting this guess on the delay. The earlier rumors of a possible 2020 launch of GTA 6 now looks doubtful.
The Introduction of the Diamond Casino & Resort was Bang On
What turned the tide in its favor was the introduction of the Diamond Casino & Resort into the game. It was seamlessly integrated. The Online Casino is located in the Vinewood downtown area within the virtual city of Los Santos. You can play many games in the casino using the in-game cash that you would have accumulated. These are the regular ones you get to play in any real casino.
Apart from the Online Casino, Rockstar has introduced a variety on new cars that you can buy and drive in. These are also being gobbled up.
This has set the gamers on a frenzy which even the developer might not have imagined. Rockstar Games has released a statement to the media in which it has conceded that it is seeing the largest number of players trying their luck and skills in GTA 5. Such numbers had not been seen ever, right from 2013 when GTA 5 was launched, till today. This must be a huge achievement for any game developer. After a lapse of six years, if a game is getting downloaded and figures in the charts, it has to have an appeal among the gamers.
GTA 6 Can Wait
All the above can only lead to one conclusion as far as the GTA 6 is concerned. The popular game’s next version has to wait till those playing the current version practically feel tired of playing it for various reasons. There have been leaks, earlier, of the developers having worked on new locations. The practice is to introduce new characters when the version is reworked as well.
By current reckoning, however, Rockstar Games will want to link the release of GTA 6 with the launch of the two top gaming consoles, Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett. That could be towards the end of next year, 2020.
