It’s no longer a secret that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be announced at an Unpacked event in New York on August 23rd. What remains unknown is when the phone will actually be available in stores.
But according to a new development, it appears that this information is also out here with us. Apparently, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available for pre-orders on the same day of the conference, with customers able to grab one from local stores the next day.
This is just awesome if you ask me. Rather than have fans wait for weeks before they can get their hands on a device they’ve waited for, perhaps, years, Samsung wants you to have the phone almost immediately after unveiling it. According to the tipster, this information was obtained from a Best Buy mobile employee and further verified through Samsung and Verizon Wireless channels.
Samsung is obviously doing everything to get ahead of LG, which will also be unveiling the V30 on the final day of this month. It’s very likely that LG V30 fans will have to wait for at least two weeks before they can buy the phone. With the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 set to start selling on August 24th, the company is hoping that the phablet will have gotten ahead of the game by the time the V30 comes around.
Even though Sony is also expected to unveil the Xperia XZ1 at this event, it’s the LG V30 that Samsung definitely sees as the toughest competition ahead. By releasing the Galaxy Note 8 two or three weeks ahead of the V30, the Samsung is looking to capture the market ahead of its counterpart.
Being their companies’ top-end phones, the Note 8 and V30 have a few things in common. They feature massive display screens with premium designs, the Snapdragon 835 SoC runs the show on both sets and you also get dual-lens cameras.
