LG G6 is hot property right now! The phone is scheduled for launch next month but right before its official reveal, a leaked render has confirmed that it’s going to be amply stylish with a near bezel less design.
The smartphone manufacturer has to compromise in terms of flagship hardware because all the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipsets are acquired by Samsung for their Galaxy S8 smartphone. It’s not only LG but Huawei among other top manufacturers are forced to go with last year’s Snapdragon 821 and not the latest 835 due to lack of availability of the chip.
However, despite the shortcoming that created a setback for the LG G6, the leaked renders show one of the best looking smartphones in recent times. The designers have successfully managed to significantly reduce the screen to body ratio. The phone sports the thinnest bezel we have seen in so many years. The model that pioneered the idea was the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept model. While they managed to set a new benchmark, it is known that such ventures don’t become mainstream until top manufacturers start implementing it in their smartphones.
While a previous rumor claims that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to be really thin in design and will not have bezels on the top or the bottom of the phone, LG G6 might steal the attention from the brand with an earlier launch date. According to a post by GSMArena, the phone will be launched during the 2017 Mobile World Congress on February 26th.
It also adds that the G6 will sport a large 5.7-inch display with curved display corners and has a 2:1 aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is such a unique choice that it may either be groundbreaking or may not gain the support of the audience if it doesn’t deliver in terms of quality. Being a flagship model, it’s quite powerful in almost all areas except for the Snapdragon 821 processor which doesn’t justify a 2017 launch. Many of the design aspects of the phone will be similar to the G5. The model will be water resistant, has a fingerprint reader and dual lens camera.
Based on how good the LG G6 looks and performs, it might pave way for more anticipation for the already popular Samsung Galaxy S8 that sports a near bezel less display. More manufacturers will follow the route set by top brands but they might also remove the 3.5mm audio jack just like Apple did.
