The new concept art confirmed that the next gen Mercedes AMG GT is indeed coming to the Geneva motor show 2017 and they gave an idea of how the new car would look like.
Whenever Mercedes partners with AMG to deliver the best in-class models, they are the fastest cars that you could get on road. There is no official update from the company. So, it could either be a concept version of the car to be showcased at the event or the company might simply choose to discuss the possible plans they have for the new GT car.
The newest Mercedes AMG GT to join the lineup will be a four-door coupe and you can check out the concept sketch in here. It’s pretty much in its nascent stages and it might take more than a year for us to actually see the production version of the same car. According to the teaser shot, it is known that the model is being known as the GT Concept at the moment. Surprisingly, the picture also shows that there is space for a number plate and if we are to take that as a cue, the model is very close to actual production.
According to inside sources, the Mercedes AMG GT concept will be powered by a 4.0liter twin turbo V8 engine which is already being used in the two-door variant. In terms of chassis, body and design, the four-door coupe doesn’t vary drastically based on which it is anticipated that they will continue using the same powertrain once again in the new car.
A centrally mounted exhaust is spotted in the concept image which is appropriately accentuated by a huge exhaust and the door handles seems to have borrowed its inspiration from the new generation Tesla cars. The car also features large two tone wheels, accentuated by a red paint that sticks true to the tradition AMG has generated over the years.
There is very little information available with regards to the new Mercedes AMG GT Concept. The manufacturer will have a stall at the 2017 Geneva motor expo where more details on the concept model is expected to be unveiled. While pricing and availability may not be announced there as it is too early to divulge those details, there could be updates on the powertrain, design elements and performance improvements they have made to the new four door coupe GT concept car.
