While the received a lot of popularity, the publishers, perhaps, didn’t find it successful enough to plan a sequel for it. However, two and a half decades post its original release, the game has found a ‘spiritual successor’ in the form of the Mutant Football League.
In the year 2017, the idea of Mutant Football League was conceived thanks to a Kickstarter project where a sum of $60,000 was raised. Though Mutant League Football couldn’t have a sequel to its credit, Mutant Football League’s success paved the way for its success.
