Nokia is making its way back with the official launch of Nokia 6 Android Nougat 7.0, with 5.5 inches display and RAM of 4 GB.
HMD Global is the company that is developing the Nokia brand smartphones, which Foxconn is building under HMD Global’s license. Though HMD has not offered any official photo of the upcoming Nokia 6, a video was seen in Android Police probably showing the said device in action, along with the fingerprint scanner on the front.
It was rumored for some time that Nokia is making its way back to the smartphone sector. Now, it is officially confirmed that Nokia is launching the Nokia 6 smartphone, running on Android Nougat 7.0 version. The company will be releasing the device in the first half of this year.
Launching in China
However, the launch will initially be only in China. Nokia has stressed that it is interested in offering smartphones of premium quality offered at competitive pricing. If you are interested in this new handset from Nokia, you have to be living in China. According to HMD, the decision of launching their first Android smartphone in the Chinese market is based on the need for meeting the consumer needs in various markets all over the world. There are around 552 million users of smartphones in China, according to 2016 figures. This is expected to increase to 593 million by the end of this year. The company therefore considers it a very strategic region where consumers value a smartphone of premium design offering top quality designing.
The press release stated that the Nokia 6 symbolizes the beginning of the HMD ambition of setting up new standards in design and material quality along with innovations in manufacturing for all types of its products. The company aims at building and offering the true Nokia smartphone experience.
The upcoming Nokia 6 comes in aluminum build and has a screen display of 5.5 inches. The screen resolution is 1080 x 1920 FHD. It is powered by the Snapdragon, 430 process and has the Adreno graphics card of 505 GPU. The RAM is 4 GB and it has an internal storage of 64 GB. The back camera has a resolution of 16 MP and the front camera is 8 MP. The Nokia 6 also comes with other smart features, such as the fingerprint sensor and Quick Charge 3.0. It runs on the Android Nougat 7.0 version out of the box.
The device will be available for purchase directly from JD.com at the price of around US $245.
According to Arto Nummela, the CEO of HMD Global, the Nokia 6 will bear testimony to superior crafting and excellent design. He described the manufacturing process stating that it takes around 55 minutes for machining one device of the Nokia 6 using a 6000 series, aluminum block. Next, there are two anodizing procedures that take around ten hours for completion. Each of the devices is polished at least five times, resulting in the aluminum unibody of top quality visual as well as structural quality.
