Oppo’s first foldable phone is said to support 65W fast charging.
More and more smartphone companies are reportedly working to dive into the foldable smartphone market, where Samsung is currently in a leading position. Oppo is one of them, which could launch its first foldable phone soon. The phone is rumored to be called Oppo Fold.
While the company is yet to confirm its arrival, the rumor mill has been spilling some details. Now, we have new details about the foldable phone, coming from a reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station.
The Chinese tipster claims that Oppo’s first foldable phone packs a 4,500 mAh battery and supports 65W wired fast charging. According to recent leaks/rumors, the device could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is likely to be paired with 8GB/12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.
Just likely most of the foldable phons, the upcoming Oppo foldable phone will also feature an inner folding mechanism. It is said to sport an OLED display which measures 7.8 to 8-inch. The rear camera module is rumored to have a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor. Oppo Fold might feature a 32MP snapper for selfies and video calling. On the software front, the foldable phone may come with ColorOS 12 skin, based on Android 11.
Oppo has not yet divulged any details about its first foldable phone. There’s no info on the launch date yet. Hopefully, we will learn more about the device in the coming weeks. Another Chinese company, Vivo, is also said to be in the works to launch its first foldable phone. Not only these two but tech giant Apple is also said to be working on a foldable phone, which is expected to launch in early 2023.
