The most powerful car, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been officially revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The event served the platform for some of the most exotic cars unlike the Geneva or other conventional auto shows.
The ongoing car expo is more of a festival than a launch event that allowed automobile manufacturers to showcase their fastest and most potent cars of them all. The first edition of the new 911 car was shown once at the E3 gaming expo which was something automobile enthusiasts hardly expected. However, the brand’s association with the exclusive racing title allowed them to launch it in the Los Angeles gaming event.
Porsche has now found a spot for the 911 GT2 RS which is powered by a 3.8-liter biturbo flat-six engine. The particular powertrain is capable of producing a massive 690 horsepower, an exceptionally powerful choice when compared to the old generation GT2 RS model. It renders at least 79 horsepower more than the outgoing edition because of the tweaked powertrain used in the car.
The powertrain delivers 690hp combined with 750Nm of torque. It is equipped with a modified version of the turbocharging system. With this new setup, an increased quantity of air will be ushered into the combustion chambers to produce more power. When such power is produced, it could increase heat which is kept under control with the help of a water cooling system that sprays air cooled water to keep the temperatures under control when the car is being pushed to its maximum capacity.
The engine is mated to a seven speed PDK gearbox and Porsche claims that the sound produced by the 911 GT2 RS is going to be one of the biggest highlights and is 7 kilograms less in weight compared to the 911 turbo model. The overall weight of the car is pegged at 1,470 kg and can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds. The top speed of the car is confirmed to be at 211 mph.
The weight of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS is made mainly using carbon fiber plastic that significantly reduces its weight with ample quantities of magnesium. The stylish front wings, rear wings, front wheel arches. The car is mounted on a race spec chassis and is equipped with Connect Plus features to allow driver to connect easily with the dashboard for entertainment and navigation. The new car is priced at £207,506.
