Yesterday morning, Red Dead Online was one of the most trending topics on the microblogging site Twitter. A few hours later, in the afternoon, ‘Save Red Dead Online’ started trending.
All this is reflective of the players of Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode not being happy with some of the recent developments. Fans, in fact, have been upset for more than a year now – ever since Red Dead Online started marching behind Grand Theft Auto Online.
For RedDead Online, 2021 proved to be quite a dull year and with the way things are shaping up, 2022 might chart a similar story for the game. Yesterday, Rockstar Games launched the first-ever update for Red Dead Online this year. Instead of making fans happy, this update angered the fans further.

Like most of the updates released last year, this update, too, is quite insignificant. One of the reasons behind this is the fact that the employees of Rockstar Games have just started resuming work after spending the holiday season with their loved ones. Fans, however, were expecting 2022 to be a messenger of glad tidings. After the launch of this lukewarm update, they are getting the feeling that 2022 will also be filled with disappointments for them.
Two years of this nonsense from Rockstar now. They simply don’t care anymore, the care and love for Red Dead 2 is long gone. It’s all down to GTAV now, what a disappointing turnout. #SaveRedDeadOnline

Just come out and say you’re not supporting the game anymore rather than continue to drag us along with shit like this. Can’t even be bothered to give us weekly updates anymore while giving their golden goose GTAO the entire world at the same time. Y’all are actual clowns https://t.co/YkFk1SaSoM

As far as the update is concerned, it hasn’t arrived with any fresh content. All it offers gamers are bonuses. Apart from employees being on leave for a long time, another reason behind things happening slowly at the gaming company is the Red Dead Online team being quite small. This is because a large number of resources have been transferred to other projects.

Surprisingly, Rockstar Games has neither addressed this issue nor has it made any efforts to reach out to the angry fans. In the past, there have been several instances when the fans of RedDead Online expressed their displeasure over some update or alternation in the game. While there have been times when Rockstar Games have addressed such complaints, there have been several occasions (like this time!) when they decide to ignore the soft protests carried out by fans on social media.
