Samsung Galaxy M40 (SM-M405F) Geekbench Listing Appears to Reveal Snapdragon 675 and 6 GB RAM

The SM-M405F model number that belongs to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M40 smartphone has appeared on Geekbench.

The smartphone has been recently approved by Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance bodies in the recent past. These certifications and Geekbench appearance of the Galaxy M40 confirms that its release could be close at hand.

The Galaxy M40 SM-M405F is fueled by the Snapdragon 6150 SoC, which is the codename of the Snapdragon 675 mobile platform. The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. The smartphone boots to Android 9 Pie OS. In the single-core test of Geekbench, the Galaxy M40 has recorded a score of 2350 and in the multi-core test, it has scored 6410. The Geekbench performance of Galaxy M40 is far more superior than the Geekbench scores obtained by Galaxy M10, M20 and M30.

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy M40 have revealed that the Android 9 Pie OS will be overlaid with One UI skin. Also, the smartphone may come with a big internal storage of 128 GB. There is no information available yet on the display size and its design. The size of its battery is under the wraps. Galaxy M40 will be positioned higher than the Galaxy M30 smartphone that comes with 6.4-inch Infinity-U S-AMOLED display, Exynos 7904 SoC, 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 5-megapixel triple camera setup, 16-megapixel front-facing camera and 5,000 mAh battery.

There is a possibility that the Galaxy M40 may come with a larger display than the M30 handset. It may feature a triple or quad camera setup. It remains to be seen whether this handset will also include a 5,000 mAh battery. The South Korean company has been consistently launching new phones since the beginning of this year. Hence, there is a possibility that the Galaxy M40 may go official later this month in India, just like its predecessors were first released in India. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage of the Galaxy M30 costs INR 17,990 ($259). The more powerful Galaxy M40 could be priced around INR 20,000 ($289).
