Alleged Galaxy S9 Lite/Mini with 5.8-inch Display, Dual Cameras and 6GB RAM Heading to China

Samsung Galaxy S9 Lite Display

Samsung Galaxy S9 is a great flagship smartphone with improved camera specs but not without its fair share of flaws.

Based on a new TENAA listing, it seems that Samsung is going to fix everything that was wrong with S9 including the lack of dual rear camera and less RAM but the upcoming model will be exclusively available in China.

While most would love to have a dual rear camera setup that would allow them to take amazing photographs, the particular feature was reserved for the Galaxy S9+ smartphone. A new model that goes by the model number SM-G8850 which was previously spotted on the TENAA website now has an official hardware specifications sheet and a few pictures of the smartphone.

Giving China the Best Version of Galaxy S9 Yet

It’s easy to claim that Samsung is going to offer the best version of the Galaxy S9 yet in the Chinese market based on a lot of factors. The upcoming smartphone which was previously rumored to be the S9 Mini is now being speculated to be S9 Lite. The phone is not small by any means as it sports ideal hardware specifications as the existing S9 in other regions. Since it’s pointless to call this device “S9 Mini” as it almost has very similar specs and dimensions to that of S9, we believe it could be named as “S9 Lite”.

When the SM-G8850 gets launched, it might be exclusively available with a Chinese cellular service provider but all these details can be confirmed only when the phone is officially announced. Based on the images posted on TENAA, Samsung is obviously copying a lot from Apple iPhone X as they are offering a flat display for the new edition.

Flat Screen Display and Galaxy S9 Lite Hardware Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Lite which features a 5.8-inch display with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixel gets rid of the curves on the back and front of the phone. The image revealed a flat device which also features a flat, fingerprint sensor sporting a different shape than the one found on the existing Galaxy S9. The phone also sports a dual camera in the rear and if you live in China, you should be able to buy it unless Samsung eventually launches this model in other regions.

In terms of hardware specifications, the rumored device SM-G8850 is powered by a 2.8GHz octa-core Exynos 9810 processor with 6GB of RAM. The phone has dual 12-megapixel cameras in the rear and is as premium as the flagship could get with minor changes. The Galaxy S9 Lite is almost the same as the S9 and the S9+ except for these minor yet impressive changes for the Chinese market.
