Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 is one of the low budget smartphones from the company that is waiting in pipeline to receive the Android Oreo update.
Two regional variants of the smartphone have appeared on the website of WFA Alliance with Android 8.0 Oreo which suggests that the company could be planning to release the latest Android version for it.
The model number of Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 is SM-G390. The Canadian version of the phone with model number SM-G390W and its European edition with model number SM-G390F have been approved by WFA. The smartphone was launched in May with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Even though the handset has been now spotted with Android 8.0 Oreo, there is no confirmation on when the company will be making it available.
Android Oreo 8.0 Update to Samsung Galaxy Devices
A fresh leak has revealed that Samsung is planning to rollout Android 8.0 Oreo update starting from the end of this year to its mid-range phones. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Neo is expected to taste Oreo in December.
A slew of other Samsung devices such as Galaxy Tab A (2017), Galaxy A9 Pro (2016), Galaxy C7 Pro, Galaxy C9 Pro, Galaxy J2 (2018), Galaxy On5 (2016), Galaxy On7 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2018) and Galaxy J7 (2017) are slated to receive Oreo update in January 2019.
Samsung is expected to release Oreo update for Galaxy J7 Max in February 2019 followed by Galaxy J7 (2016) in March.
The leak does not include any information when Samsung will be releasing Oreo update for Xcover 4. If the above leak turns out to be true, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 may receive an OS upgrade in the coming year.
